Another Terror turns professional

A fourth Tooting man heads to the Football League

If you arrive at the Campus Society Stadium on August 20th and find yourselves at the back of a long queue behind a succession of Football League scouts, please don't be too surprised. Tooting & Mitcham United will be entertaining Ashford Town, and there's every likelihood that most of their team will be under scrutiny, given they've just had a fourth player in two months join a professional outfit.

Following attacking midfielder Abraham Odoh, (Charlton Athletic), winger Isaiah Jones and right-wing back Samuel Folarin (Middlesbrough) into the Championship is centre-back Lexus Beeden, who signed for Reading yesterday afternoon.

In a statement, the club explain:

"Everyone at the club is rightfully very proud of what has happened this summer. This is a remarkable achievement for a club at step 4 of the National League System. It hasn’t simply happened overnight though; it’s the fruition of the club’s continuing policy of investing in its youth and the dedication of the entire coaching staff over the past two or three seasons. We wish Lex the very best of luck for the future as he enters the professional ranks for the first time."

Who will be next off the Terrors production line? Perhaps you might want to head along and find out for yourselves!
