BetVictor Isthmian League Manager of the Month Awards- sponsored by Anderson Travel: January 2020

By Ian Townsend

The winners of the January Manager of the Month Awards- sponsored by the fabulous folk at Anderson Travel- have just been announced. Who won the first awards of the decade?

January was wet, wild, and on occasions, wonderful. It brought us goals, drama, and enough rain to float a fleet of battleships. Who were the best performers? Here are our Manager of the Month winners, sponsored by Anderson Travel.

Premier

For the second month in a row, we’re off to Woodside Road- home of what is now known as the Crucial Environmental Stadium!

With thirteen points from fifteen in January, Worthing soared to the top of the table. Bognor Regis Town, Merstham, Brightlingsea Regent and Cheshunt were defeated, East Thurrock United escaped with a goalless draw, fourteen goals were scored, and only one was conceded. It’s no wonder they are top!

Congratulations to Adam Hinshelwood, our Manager of the Month.

North

Tilbury had a magnificent January, and have forced themselves into the promotion chase. What makes their month so impressive is not only the fact that they won four of their five matches and drew the other one, but that on the way they defeated three of their chief rivals- Heybridge Swifts, Bury Town and- removing their unbeaten record- Maldon & Tiptree. Only Witham Town faced the Dockers last month and left with anything.

Congratulations to Marc Harrison and all at Chadfields.

South Central

Bracknell Town didn’t have the start to the season they were hoping for, but January saw them begin to cook with gas, and the top clubs are now looking over their shoulder and worrying about the approach of the Robins.

Five matches played, thirteen points collected and four clean sheets- only Ashford Town found their way through the Robins rearguard, and they still left with nothing.

Congratulations to Bobby Wilkinson and all at Larges Lane.

South East

This was a close one, and in the end it came down to goal difference, but the deserved winner of our Manager of the Month Award is Ashford United boss Tommy Warrilow- who adds this crown to the Performance of the Month gong we gave his side earlier this afternoon.

The Nuts and Bolts won four and lost one of their five matches, and in so doing scored a more than impressive seventeen goals, including seven at Burgess Hill Town. As well as the Hillians, Three Bridges, Faversham Town and Sevenoaks Town were left with nothing.

Congratulations to Tommy and all at Homelands.
