BetVictor Isthmian League- supporters predictions 2019/20: Ware

We’re in the South Central Division once more, and we’re off to Wodson Park.

We asked supporters of our BetVictor Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-20 (or 22) will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.

Ware fell narrowly short of success last season. Can they do even better this time around? Matt Miller gives us the lowdown.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

It has to be beating Hertford Town on their own ground. I would get lynched if I said anything else!

2. And your worst moment?

Getting thumped by Cheshunt on the August Bank Holiday sticks in my memory.

3. How will you do this season?

We have lost some fire power from last season, but I think we have also made some reasonable acquisitions so I will say we will finish in the top half.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

We have some good local teams in the league this season; Hertford Town, Harlow Town and Waltham Abbey to name but three- so plenty of games where there is the potential for a good attendance.

5. What is your favourite away ground?

Uxbridge, Cheap food and drink and pretty hospitable people as well. A traditional non-league club.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

Hertford Town are our biggest rivals due to them being our closest opponents. They turned into a bit of laughing stock at the back end of last season with how they treated the three managers that they had there between January and May.

7. What advice would you give to any away supporter visiting you for the first time?

It's a bit of a walk from the station but you can walk along the river if you don’t want to see the high street in full.

8. Who is your favourite player of all time (for your club)- and why?

Scott Neilson, his ability on the ball was game-changing. I also hold John Frendo in high regard.

9. Who will be in the top five at the end of the season?

Tooting & Mitcham United, Westfield, Staines Town, Chertsey Town, Barking

Right, you've read the thoughts of Matt, do you want to be next? If you'd like to represent your club, then please send an email to townsendaround@gmail.com and we shall see what we can do!
