Big changes for the Rooks

Lewes boss Freeman oversees squad shake-up

Lewes boss Darren Freeman has been disappointed with the start his Rooks have made to the season- and last night he dramatically did something about it, bringing in three new signings whilst announcing two departures.

Full back Martyn Box arrives on loan from Barnet. Martin signed his first professional contract for the Bees a week before Christmas, and is highly thought of at The Hive. Martin joined Barnet after beginning his football education at Brighton & Hove Albion, and made his debut for the Bees in September last year, then aged just sixteen. A keen cricketer, he has also been known to wield a bat for Burgess Hill.

Duqame Copeland is a centre back who also arrives on loan, in this case from Welling United. Actually the Rooks describe him as a centre back, but Welling call him a 'utility man.' We wait to find out where else he can be utilised! He's made two appearances this season.

The third arrival is striker Yvan Jourdan. Yvan was most recently with Basingstoke Town, where he arrived in March this year. Prior to joining Town he was at Cheshunt, and indeed was a regular starter during the first half of the Ambers promotion season, scoring three goals.

Leaving the club is Zach Fagan, who only joined in the summer from Farnborough, and perhaps surprisingly Kieron Pamment. Pamment has started each of the Rooks matches this season, and indeed looked the player most likely to score when playing at Margate last Saturday. He joined the Rooks in November last year after leaving Burgess Hill Town, and previously played for Worthing.
