Blues bring in a former Hawk

Wingate and Finchley announce new boss- but he won't be available for a fortnight

Less than 24 hours after they announced the departure of manager Steve Clarke, Wingate and Finchley have announced the arrival of his replacement- former Harlow Town Assistant Spencer Knight.

Spencer left the Hawks in March of this year after five years, with the aim of becoming a manager in his own right. He has now achieved that ambition at Summers Lane, and his first match as boss will be against Brightlingsea Regent on 12th October- he is away on business until then.

As a player, he turned out for St Albans City, Chelmsford City, Canvey Island and Billericay Town. He also played for Ware, before ending up in the dugout.
