Bostik Supporters Predictions 18/19: East Grinstead Town

Adam Robinson gives a view from the home of the largest Wasps in Sussex!

We asked supporters of our Bostik League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-20 (or 22) will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.

We head down the A264 to East Grinstead Town, where the Wasps are much larger than normal! Adam Robinson hopes that his boys will sting to the opposition this season.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

East Grinstead Adam and friends

Winning away at Thamesmead 5-4 after being 4-2 down.

2. And your worst moment?

Losing 7-1 at home to Hastings after forking the pitch to get the game on was quite disappointing

3. How will you do this season?

I think we’ll be mid table. I really rate some of the signings that Matt Longhurst has brought into the club and hope they’re all successful for us. He’s really solidified the back line which was a weakness last year; signing Ryan Johnson from Hythe I think is massive, and also getting ex skipper Callum Emptage back. Alongside this, signing Sid Sollis from Margate, who has looked sharp in pre season should provide goals up top.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

All of them. Nothing like going to watch football with your mates.

5. What is your favourite away ground?

We enjoy going to Hythe Town. We like to go down there early and have a couple of drinks and some darts.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

In terms of local derbies we’ve got a rivalry with Three Bridges so we’re looking forward to playing them again this season. Some people know we have a colourful song for them, it will be nice to hear one back this year.

7. What advice would you give to any away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Enjoy it, we have good facilities and it’s a great place to watch a game. One thing you can guarantee at the Grin is goals.

8. Who is your favourite player of all time (for your club)- and why?
Personally, my favourite player for the club of all time is Steve Sargent. Someone that you know you’ll get 100% every game, reads and understands the game very well. Was handy bringing him back last season to bring some experience to a youthful side.

9. Who will be in the top five at the end of the season?
Cray Wanderers, Hastings United, Ashford United, Greenwich Borough, Horsham

Where next?

Bostik Supporters Predictions 18/19: Ware Peter Miller takes us to Ware the action is (sorry).
Hastings sign former Don New right back for Agutter
