Boxing Day's Ryman South review

By David Watters

None of the top four were in action on Boxing Day in Ryman South so it was a chance for the chasing pack to make up ground, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Dorking Wanderers moved into fifth after a 1-0 win at Chipstead, thanks to a goal three minutes from time from Dan Evans – the hosts having Harry Knock sent-off in first half injury-time.

Faversham Town are seventh and Carshalton Athletic eighth after both gained victories.

Faversham won 1-0 at Chatham Town, courtesy of a 19th minute Renford Tenyue effort, while the Robins secured a 3-1 success at Walton & Hersham with goals from Tommy Bradford after 21 minutes, Bobby Price after 35 minutes and Paris Hamilton-Downes 20 minutes from time after Aaron Watson had replied four minutes before half-time.

Substitute Billy Medlock scored the only goal 14 minutes from time for Hastings United at the Pilot Field in front of a crowd of 474 against Walton Casuals, while struggling East Grinstead Town saw off Three Bridges 2-0 with Andres Losada-Tobon and Jack Mahoney scoring in each half.

Molesey took advantage of hosts Corinthian-Casuals going down to ten-men in the final minute to win 2-1 after Reis Stanislaus had cancelled out Danny Dudley`s 67th minute opener a minute later. David Hodges received his marching orders for a last-man foul for which Danny Bracken saved Stanislaus` spot-kick but in the second minute of time added on sub Dre Grobler won it for the Moles.

Tooting & Mitcham United shared a 1-1 Imperial Fields draw with Whyteleafe, whose Jamie Byatt cancelled out Serge Makofo`s 33rd minute opener five minutes before the break.
