It took Brentwood Town only a short time to find a replacement for departed boss Adam Flanagan, and that replacement is a big name in the non league world and an experienced former Isthmian, as Rod Stringer takes the reins at the Arena.
Rod was manager at Aveley from 2007 until 2010, and in that time led the Millers to the North Division title before steering them to third place in the Premier Division. He moved on to Braintree Town, and also led them to promotion- in their case to the National League- before moving on to more success at Bishop's Stortford, managing to keep the Blues at Step Two despite them being placed in Conference North.
He was most recently in charge at Chelmsford City, leaving in February last year- just before the pandemic got in the way.
His arrival will be delayed by a week because he is currently overseas, so Larry Bayford will take charge for today's FA Trophy match against Corinthian.
