Canvey ask for support for Glen

By Ian Townsend

Canvey media man Glen Eckett is seriously ill- and the Gulls have set up a fundraiser to help him and his family

Canvey Island media guru Glen Eckett is one of the finest Isthmians you are ever likely to meet, and at this point he needs your help.

Glen, who has taken on the roles of webmaster, social media manager, programme editor and archivist for the Gulls, and has been supporting the club home and away for years, was taken ill just before Christmas, and remains hospitalised. As the club explain:

'Glen was admitted to hospital and underwent emergency surgery to see to a serious infection - something that has left him hospital bound and in minimal consciousness ever since.'

We all hope Glen recovers as quickly as possible, but he has a young family who need support, and the club have arranged a fund raiser to try and help. Please give what you can by heading here.

Get well soon Glen. The Movie Starr Stadium just isn't the same without you.
