Charity thanks fans and stalwart

Long-time supporter Malcolm Nixon and Whitstable Town's fans have been thanked by their local branch of Parkinson's UK for their fundraising efforts.

The season ticket holder and Parkinson's sufferer is pictured collecting at the The Belmont this season, his most recent matchday efforts raising approximately £60 from generous Oystermen fans.

Parkinson's UK Canterbury & District Branch spokeswoman Janice Bushell said: "Please pass on our thanks to all at Whitstable Football Club for having the collection. As you are aware all donations are very gratefully received."

Proud Whitstable Town chairman Gary Johnson said everybody at the club was only too pleased to support the fan's fundraising efforts for their local charity.

"He is a great example to those that suffer from Parkinson's as he always attends our home fixtures as well as many of the away ones that he can get to too."
