Experienced striker heads to Mayesbrook Park

Barking have announced the signing of striker Charlie MacDonald, who has most recently been playing for Glebe.

Charlie has had a wonderful career, starting off at Charlton Athletic and playing professionally at Brentford, MK Dons, Leyton Orient, Southend United, Oldham Athletic and Barnet. After leaving the professional game he played for Boreham Wood and St Albans City before heading the Isthmian way, where he was prolific for Greenwich Borough before moving on to Cray Wanderers where he got twelve goals in eighteen games.

He spent 2018-19 with VCD Athletic, where he scored for fun- thirty five goals in thirty five appearances, with fourteen more in thirty one appearances before 2019-20 came to an early and unexpected end.

On social media, the player commented:

'Looking forward to linking up with some familiar faces again, & no doubt the ambition is there for all to see, with some very good new additions which shows great intent from the football club to push on.'
