Maldon & Tiptree

Colchester United legend Kevin Watson will be guiding Maldon & Tiptree in Ryman North next season after succeeding Alan Kimble at the Wallace Binder Ground.

The 41-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur, Colchester United and Reading midfielder took charge at the Jammers this week following the departure of Kimble last weekend.

Watson, who kicked off his career as a trainee at Spurs before making five appearances for them in the 90, also turned out for Rotherham United, Swindon Town and Luton Town and has been a touchline pundit on Sky Sports' Gillette Soccer Saturday, pictured.

He moved into coaching at the Hatters as a first team coach under manager Mick Harford in 2009 and now coaches at Colchester United, a club he made 135 appearances for between 2004 and 2008.

Kimble, 48, was appointed in September 2014 and stood down following a poor run of results that left the Jammers needing a draw from their final match of the season to secure their future in the Ryman League.

His assistant, Anwar Uddin, also left to take over as manager of Essex Senior League side Sporting Bengal.
