Congratulations to Spurs Ladies!

Congratulations to the Ryman League's 2017 Boux Avenue Women's Cup winners Tottenham Hotspur Ladies!

The holders retained the silverware they won last season with a 3-1 win over Charlton Athletic Ladies at Cheshunt's Theobalds Lane on Wednesday night.

After gaining revenge for a 2-1 defeat after extra-time in the 2015 final at Ware last April with a penalty shoot-out win over the Addicks at the home of the Ryman North's Ambers, fans saw the encounter decided by a scintillating first 45 minutes, Bianca Baptiste after eight minutes, Wendy Martin two minutes later and Kellie Blanchflower on 20 minutes, scoring for Spurs Ladies with Avilla Bergin replying.

This season's rivalry between the FA Women's Premier League sides is far from over with the clubs set to meet again in the league and in the final of the Capital Women's Cup later this month and a Women's Premier League Cup final back at Theobalds Lane in May.

To reach their third successive final, Tottenham Hotspur Ladies beat West Ham United 3-1 in their semi-final back in February after earlier wins over Whyteleafe and Tonbridge Angels. Charlton hammered Worthing 8-0 in their last four clash after beating Godalming Town 9-0 and earning a bye into the second round after Wealdstone were forced to withdraw from the competition.

Staines Town lifted the inaugural Ryman League Women’s Cup back in 2007 and nine clubs kicked off in this season’s competition back in October - Burgess Hill Town, Enfield Town, Godalming Town, Harlow Town, Tooting & Mitcham United, Tonbridge Angels and Worthing.

Lingerie specialists Boux Avenue took over the sponsorship of the cup three seasons ago when the Ryman Group renewed and expanded its long-running partnership to 19 years.

Another Ryman Group company, homewares retailer Robert Dyas, also took over the sponsorship of the Robert Dyas League Cup, the Robert Dyas Vets Cup, the Robert Dyas Disability Cup and the Robert Dyas Youth Play-off Cup.
