Crook for Bowers

By Ian Townsend

Billy Crook moves to Bowers & Pitsea- and makes a scoring debut

Bowers & Pitsea last night announced the arrival of Cray Wanderers midfielder Billy Crook- and he announced his own arrival with a goal at White Ensign in the Essex Thameside Trophy.

Billy was an important part of the Aveley promotion-winning side in the closing stages of last season, after joining from Tilbury. He came through the youth ranks at Crystal Palace before signing his first professional deal at Peterborough United. He had loan spells at Weymouth and Histon, but Isthmian watchers will undoubtedly remember him from his periods at Tooting & Mitcham United, Dulwich Hamlet, Carshalton Athletic, Met Police, Enfield Town and East Thurrock United.

Further up the pyramid, he won National League South promotion with Braintree Town, and came close with Dartford.

This season he has made twelve appearances for Wanderers, scoring two goals- including one against his new club in a three-all draw in September.
