Deadline deal for Shots star

Hampton & Richmond Borough

Aaron Wickham could make his debut for Hampton & Richmond Borough against Grays Athletic in the Ryman Premier on Saturday after the talented teenager signed from Aldershot.

Joint managers Paul Barry and Darren Powell signed the 19-year-old, pictured, from the Conference Premier outfit on Friday in time to beat the Ryman League’s registration deadline.

The Camden-born player can operate in midfield or up front and kicked off his career at Peterborough before spells with Crawley Town, Hayes & Yeading United, Braintree Town and Bishop's Stortford. He joined the Shots last summer and had made seven appearances for the club this season and scored once.

Wickham’s arrival follows the signing of former QPR youngster Bradley Simmonds on a short-term deal earlier this week. The midfielder recently returned from a spell playing in Iceland for IBV Vestmannaeyjar who signed him from the Championship outfit in April.

Simmonds has joined his brother James Simmonds at the club until January and hasn't ruled out making another move abroad after that.

See Saturday's Transfer List for the full list of players registered to play in the Ryman League this week.
