Deres start manager search

Matt Longhurst departs Erith & Belvedere

Erith & Belvedere have announced the resignation of manager Matt Longhurst.

Matt made his decision after last night's defeat at Merstham, their eighth in ten matches. He took on the role in March with the Deres eight points clear at the top of the SCEFL Premier table, steering his side to promotion a few weeks after leaving Burgess Hill Town, where he had been in charge for less than a month.

Prior to his time at the Hillians, Matt had been coaching at Pitching In Isthmian Premier side Billericay Town. He was previously in charge at Ramsgate until resigning in April 2022. He left the Rams after two and a half years in charge, departing with them occupying the final play off spot.

Earlier in his management career he was in charge at East Grinstead Town, steering the Wasps to the highest position in their history during his four years in the role. He also spent a brief spell as Assistant boss at Hastings United.
