Eager Beavers pencil in first friendlies

Nobody will be able to accuse Hampton & Richmond Borough of being slow out of the blocks this summer as they prepare for next season’s Ryman Premier campaign.

On Wednesday officials at the Beavers revealed that preparations are already well underway after joint managers Darren Powell and Paul Barry unveiled their draft pre-season schedule for July and early August.

Subject to confirmation, the club’s programme kicks off on either Saturday 12 or Sunday 13 June when they take on Corinthian-Casuals for the Geoff Harvey Memorial Vase.

Home and away fixtures follow against Merstham, Badshot Lea, Spelthorne Sports, Egham Town, Hanworth Villa and Walton & Hersham, the games sandwiching lucrative clashes at the Beveree Stadium against a Brentford XI and a Swansea XI before an away trip to Selhurst Park to take on a Crystal Palace XI.
