Embery back at Bay

Jake Embery returns to Herne Bay

Herne Bay have announced the return to the club of striker Jake Embery, who was on the bench for today's match with Hastings United.

Jake moves up from Faversham Town, where he has only been for a few weeks, but managed to make seven appearances- scoring once. He also played five time for Carshalton Athletic this season.

Jake started his career at Bay, departing the club for Maidstone United aged just nineteen, in February 2019- a highly sought after signing after he scored forty nine goals in eighty five appearances at Winch's Field.

His two years with the Stones were not only hit by the pandemic but also by injury, dislocating a shoulder and suffering an ankle problem which stopped the Gallagher Stadium faithful ever seeing the best of him. He was invited back for pre-season last year, but decided instead to head back to the Kent coast and sign for Margate. He scored four goals in twelve appearances at Hartsdown Park, and then moved on to Horsham, where he played four times. He then played National League South football for Tonbridge Angels, before joining Leatherhead in February, playing three times.
