Edwards, who left Billericay Town at the start of March after six years at the helm of Kingstonian's Ryman Premier rivals, was named on Tuesday as the successor to Tommy Williams following his weekend departure after his side's 2-1 defeat at Burgess Hill Town.
The former head youth coach at Southend United, who enjoyed spells on the touchline with Barkingside, Barking, Grays Athletic, Redbridge, Chelmsford City and Dulwich Hamlet before his move to the New Lodge, will need all of his experience after the Ks dropped into the bottom four at the weekend.
Kingstonian joint chairman Mark Anderson urged fans to get behind the UEFA A holder, pictured, when he takes charge for the first time at Kingsmeadow on Saturday in another relegation six pointer against Leatherhead, their landlords next season and the team immediately above them in the table on goal difference.

In a statement welcoming Edwards, Anderson said: “Craig comes with a wealth of experience at this level of football, we are delighted that he was available to come to Kingstonian at this time. His approach, enthusiasm and football ethos Impressed us all and we are confident that we have made an excellent appointment. On behalf of the Board, I urge all K’s fans to get behind Craig and the team starting on Saturday."
