Samba Sports are the UK's leading manufacturer of goals- and you can visit their website here. What you'll find, however, is that they are about much more than just the provision of goals! From balls to gloves, from corner flags to water bottles, from coaching aids to captains armbands, if you need it for your club the chances are that Samba will have it (note: they can't supply you with a free-scoring centre forward). They can ever provide you with new dugouts if the old ones are letting in the rain!
Thanks to Samba for their support- and here are our October Golden Gloves winners:
Premier Division
Stand up Reece Hallard of Whitehawk! Sadly Reece, you don’t win a prize, but you do have the accolade of being the only player to score a league goal against Dorking Wanderers during October- not that the Hawks will take too much solace from that given they conceded two.
Dorking Wanderers won three league matches and drew one during the month, and- as we’ve already explained- conceded only that goal, whilst climbing relentlessly up the Premier Division table. Congratulations to Slavomir Huk and his mean defence.
North Division
Bowers & Pitsea currently look down on the rest of the North Division table, and one of the primary reasons for that was the meanness of their defence during October. Four league matches, three victories, and not a single goal conceded saw them soar upwards- and when they weren’t playing in the League they were knocking Premier Division Haringey Borough out of the Velocity Trophy. Well done to all at the Len Salmon.
South Central Division
Three league matches, twelve goals scored, not a single goal conceded- September couldn’t have gone much better for Chipstead. The month saw them win two matches in the FA Trophy- and keep a clean sheet as well as recording a shootout victory over Premier Division Corinthian-Casuals, too. The Samba Sports Award is taking the High Road!
South East Division
Ramsgate were unbeaten in the league during October, conceding only twice. They defeated Greenwich Borough and secured creditable draws with Horsham and Whyteleafe. Congratulations to all at the Southwood Stadium, where they- of course- also defeated Phoenix Sports in the FA Trophy.
