Invicta shared a 1-1 draw at Colston Avenue with a now sixth-placed Carshalton Athletic side whose Billy Marshall kept his cool to convert am 83rd minute penalty after Scott Heard had given the visitors a 32nd minute lead.
And not too far away at Imperial Fields, Worthing relied on a 79th minute spot-kick to salvage a point against Tooting & Mitcham United, whose Jake Baxter had put them ahead after 23 minutes.
Indeed, none of the top five won on Saturday. Third-placed Ramsgate shared a 2-2 draw on the 3G at Whyteleafe where the home side came back from being Kane Rowland and Ian Pulman goals down by the 56th minute to pull level through Jamie Byatt on 57 minutes and Sam Clayton five minutes from time.
Ryman League
Fifth-placed Faversham Town were another to draw 1-1 away at Walton Casuals` Waterside Stadium where top scorer Stuart King gave the visitors a 49th minute lead that sub Marcel Barrington cancelled out 10 minutes later.
But Dorking Wanderers dropped to fourth after losing 2-1 in Guernsey in front of another terrific gate of 683.
And they saw Ross Allen give their side a first minute lead that he doubled after 27 minutes. And, despite Kevin Terry reducing the deficit right on half-time, the Channel Islanders held on to move into seventh spot.
A couple of places below them are now Herne Bay after they won 4-0 at South Park.
Sam Hasler bagged a brace for Bay – sandwiching Joe Nelder on 62 minutes and Sam Had on 71 minutes in the 17th and 82nd minutes.
East Grinstead Town moved out of the bottom three after edging a five goal thriller at the Belmont against bottom-markers Whitstable Town.
Conner Hendrie gave the visitors a 31st minute lead but the Oystermen moved 2-1 up with goals from Dean Grant after 40 minutes and Harry Stannard just past the hour-mark. But they couldn`t hold on and the Wasps won it with goals in the final eight minutes from Jalloh Hassan and Teppill Miller.
Sittingbourne swapped places with East Grinstead after losing to a Frankie Sawyer brace in the 40th and 82nd minutes at Hythe Town.
And second-bottom Chipstead also lost – 1-0 at High Road to Chatham Town, the visitors` Austin Gacheru winning it 20 minutes from time.
Peacehaven & Telscombe moved five points clear of the drop zone, however, after a 2-0 home win over Three Bridges, courtesy of a Josh Marshall brace in the 30th and 55th minutes.
