If, as looks likely, Aveley, Coggeshall Town and Heybridge Swifts make up three of the four clubs competing in the Bostik North Playoff Semi-Finals at the end of this season, then Sam Bantick will be able to look at the line up with some satisfaction, knowing that he had a hand- or perhaps two feet- in all of their success.
Bantick started the season at Swifts, and indeed he started it with a goal in their victory over Soham Town Rangers, adding five more, including two in defeat at Parkside, before moving to Coggeshall Town. Whilst a Seed Grower he added twelve to his tally, including a hat trick against Romford, and once again played against his new employers- although failing to score this time, as the two sides played out a 1-1 draw.
And now he's a Miller- and you can read Aveley's account of that transfer by following the link.
His first game for the Millers could be Friday night's match with Witham Town, where a win could see his side go second in the table.
Do you think he might persuade James Webster to let him have five minutes on loan at Maldon & Tiptree so that he can have the full set of playoff contenders? No, we don't think so either!
