Hendon held a Pre-Valentines special on Saturday at their home game against Dorking Wanderers. Any supporter who brought their partner to the game saw their significant other get free entry, and this brought a number of first time visitors to Silver Jubilee Park. Sadly the Greens could do anything about the cold, wet weather, and even hotshot striker Niko Muir couldn't warm up the crowd, firing a penalty over the bar, but the feedback was extremely positive and hopefully the experience will attract the first timers to return.
The Greens are to follow this initiative with a special offer to Emergency Services personnel at their match with Met Police on 31st March. Any serving or former police personnel will be granted entry for just £1 on production of their ID, and a similar offer will be extended towards all current emergency services personnel, including those within the prison service and the Ministry of Defence. We'll remind you of this again nearer the time!
Finally, the club have announced that the Hendon FC Supporters Trust have been awarded a grant by the Wembley National Stadium Trust. This will allow the alarm system to be upgraded, a new PA system to be installed, and the replacement of the players tunnel. More news on that at the club website, here.
