Returning skipper tipped to shine

Three Bridges

Three Bridges manager Paul Faili believes that influential midfielder Lee Carney is set to enjoy his most successful campaign since the club won promotion to the Ryman League.

The Ryman South side's skipper was sidelined for half of last season - the West Sussex side's first following promotion - after breaking his leg and missing out on helping Bridges win both the Sussex County League and John O'Hara League Cup.

But Carney is now being tipped to shine this time around by his manager after getting a full pre-season under his belt at Jubilee Field and helping the club get off to a good start with a six point haul from their first four games.

Faili, whose side won 2-1 at Walton Casuals on Tuesday night, said: "If we can keep Lee fit he is going to have a great year after having completed a full pre-season. He is the perfect club captain and leads by example. We bring him in on every part of decision making processes because we value his opinion."
