FA Cup First Qualifying Round- draw made

By Ian Townsend

The draw for the First Qualifying Round has just been announced. Here are the details you need.

Saturday was FA Cup day, and it delivered the usual measure of excitement and disappointment. Well between 6-9 September we’ll have more of the same, as a number of our clubs will take part in the First Qualifying Round.

There are a number of standout ties, and a number of all-Isthmian contests.

Enfield Town will face AFC Rushden and Diamonds, a phoenix club formed by supporters after the original Rushden & Diamonds was liquidated back in the summer of 2011, and our former favourites Leiston will be visiting us once more, either against FC Romania or Ware. Needham Market will be heading back to see us too, travelling to Dereham Town, and Walton Casuals are returning to the site of their promotion as they head to King George’s Field to take on Kingstonian.

We could be seeing Hayes & Yeading United once more after a short absence, as if they win their replay they’ll be heading to Sussex to face Haywards Heath Town.

Horsham will travel to face last season’s Super Playoff Runners up, Met Police, whilst Margate will take a trip to SCFL side Horsham YMCA. Burgess Hill Town travelled there a few seasons ago in an FA Cup match as a Premier Division club, and it didn’t end well, so Gate will need to be on their guard!

Here’s the draw, or at least our section of it.
