Barking to play in Essex Senior League Cup Competition

By Ian Townsend

Don't worry though, they haven't left us!

The Essex Senior League have announced a new cup competition, the Len Cordell Memorial Cup, to begin- behind closed doors to start with-next month. Following rounds to be played after mid May when- hopefully- spectators might be allowed in limited numbers.

The Blues have been drawn in a group alongside Hackney Wick, West Essex and Frenford, and are the only Step Four side in the competition so perhaps that makes them favourites? The first match at Frenford is on April 10th.

The Blues then host Hackney Wick on 17th, then West Essex on 24th.

If you were wondering about the name of the competition, Len was a much loved legend of Essex football, who sadly passed away last month.
