Hastings United retain Stone

Midfielder commits for a third season, and hopes to finish this one!

Hastings United have announced that midfielder Craig Stone, who arrived from Tonbridge Angels in the summer of 2019, is to remain at the club for a third season.

Stone, who has won four promotions during his career, would surely have celebrated number five by now had it not been for the pandemic. He arrived at Pilot Field fresh from celebrating promotion as part of the Tonbridge Angels side who won not one but two Playoff Finals, defeating first Merstham and then Metropolitan Police to earn elevation to National League South, and previously turned out for Gillingham, Ebbsfleet United, Dover Athletic and Eastbourne Borough.

He made thirteen appearances last season, following thirty four the previous campaign- in which he scored four goals.

He told the club website:

“The people at the club are great, the fans are great, the management team are great to play for and the squad of players are unreal but that all said I committed to the club two years ago to help get Hastings United promoted, something prevented because of the Covid postponements. My commitment hasn’t changed and I was never going to be signing anywhere else other than Hastings United!”
