Joe Jefford fired home the opener just two minutes into the second half, latching on to fellow centre-half Tom Bullard's knock down from a corner. Gareth Heath's shot flew into the roof of the net off the unfortunate Phil Anderson for an own goal and a second for the Blues on 66 minutes.
Leiston replaced Grays Athletic at the summit after the Essex side were held to a 1-1 draw at Mill Field by Staines Town.
And it could have been worse for Mark Bentley`s side as they trailed to Luke Wanadio`s 25th minute opener until stoppage time at the end of the game when Sean Cronin popped up with the Blues` leveller.

Wednesday`s other game saw Burgess Hill Town earn Sussex bragging rights and seventh spot after beating struggling neighbours Lewes 2-1 at Leylands Park.
An excellent crowd of 638 saw Jay Lovett give the visiting Rooks a 23rd minute lead. But Callum Saunders equalised after 32 minutes and then just three minutes later grabbed his and the Hillians' second. And some heroic defending in the second period, when the hosts also hit a post, earned a valuable win.
