It's the Blues v the Millers at 7.45, as Aveley look to extend their lead and Bishop's Stortford attempt to reach the top five

Aveley could be five points clear at the top of the Pitching In Isthmian Premier by ten o'clock this evening, but Bishop's Stortford stand in the way.

The Millers have won five of their six league matches so far this season, the last of those victories coming against Potters Bar Town on Monday- and they'll be glad to play someone other than the Scholars, given their last three fixtures have been against Sammy Moore's side.

The hosting Blues haven't had the start they might have hoped for, with two wins, two draws, two defeats and an additional cup loss. They've gone five matches without a win, and will hope that their home crowd can roar them back to victory this evening. A comprehensive victory could even take them into the top five, which was where we all expected them to be!

The two sides haven't met too often during their history, but there have been some notable cup matches between the two. In 1972-73 the Blues defeated the Millers as they went all the way to the Semi-Finals of the FA Amateur Cup, whilst in 1974-75 it took two replays for the Blues to triumph in the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy. Those were the days, eh?
