Friendly round up- Saturday 16th July 2022

Here- to the best of our knowledge- is what happened in yesterday’s friendly matches

This round up is reliant entirely on social media, so may not be one hundred percent accurate! Here we go...with an image from Stuart Tree, taken at Chertsey Town v Corinthian-Casuals.

Ashford Utd and Kennington played out a one-one draw at Homelands, with a late equaliser from Gus Barnes earning a draw for the Nuts and Bolts.

Barking defeated East Thurrock Utd one-nil, whilst Basingstoke Town fell to a similar defeat, losing by the only goal of the game against Hamworthy United. Kingstonian were one-nil winners at Beaconsfield Town, Bombelenga with the goal.

Bedfont Sports fans didn’t get too much to cheer about as their side fell five-nil to Chesham United, whilst Billericay Town and Hullbridge Sports drew one-one. John Ufuah scored for the hosts, wed don’t know the Sports scorer.

Brentwood Town welcomed Hornchurch, and the Urchins ran out three-nil winners, Ellis Brown, Charlie Stimson and Sam Higgins with the goals. Brightlingsea Regent were two-one winners over FC Stansted. Carnegie and Solako scored for Regent.

Bury Town and Ipswich Town U23’s played out a two-two draw, before the Tractor Boys won a penalty shootout. Ramadan and Johnson the scorers for Bury.

Carshalton Athletic defeated Met Police three-two. The ever-reliable Tommy Bradford scored for the hosts, as did Leo Hamblin and a trialist.

Chertsey Town welcomed Corinthian-Casuals, the visitors winning two-nil. We don’t know who scored, sadly. Chipstead were three-one winners at Crawley Down Gatwick, Somo, Dixon and Grant the scorers, and it was one-one between Cockfosters and Northwood.

Cray Valley PM defeated Sutton Athletic SEVEN-one, with Edgar (2), Ibrahiym, and Coombes (2) amongst the scorers, with trialists getting the others.

Crowborough Athletic and Beckenham Town drew two-two, whilst Hastings United won three-nil at East Grinstead Town. James Hull, Gil Carvalho and Jamal Kasumu got the goals for the visitors.
Folkestone Invicta and Eastbourne Borough drew nil-nil, whilst Flackwell Heath and Binfield drew one-one.

Grays Athletic defeated National League South Cheshunt- good luck, Ambers- two-nil, with goals from Sam Bantick and Callum Watts.
Great Wakering Rovers welcomed Aveley, the visitors winning two-one, and we don’t know who scored any of them!

Guernsey hosted Stansfield and lost four-one, Glenn Le Tissier scoring their goal, whilst Hanworth Villa fell two-one against Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Hashtag United lost three-one against Jersey Bulls in the Channel Islands, whilst Cray Wanderers lost three-nil to FC Utd of Manchester in the same tournament.

Lowestoft Town won two-nil at Great Yarmouth Town.

Ross Wall got a hat trick for Heybridge Swifts as they defeated Stanway Rovers six-nil, with Jack Adlington-Pile (2) and Rhys Henry the other scorers, whilst down the road Maldon & Tiptree lost five-two against Colchester United, a trialist and Hutchinson scoring for the Jammers.

Margate defeated Dover Athletic two-nil, scorers unknown as yet, whilst Ramsgate defeated a Gillingham XI four-nil, again, scorers unknown.

New Salamis and Athletic Newham drew one-one, whilst Wroxham went down two-nil at Leiston.

Redhill and Merstham drew one-one, whilst Sevenoaks Town defeated Croydon Athletic one-nil, and Croydon five-nil, on the same afternoon.

Sheppey United defeated Herne Bay three-one, home goals from Luzolo and Leonard (and an own goal), whilst we think Ansah scored for Bay but we’re not sure! Sutton Common Rovers and Lingfield drew two-two.

Phoenix Sports hosted Sittingbourne, and the Brickies won five-nil, with goals from Graham, Harding (3), and Elliott.

Tooting & Mitcham Utd and Haywards Heath Town drew one-one, both goals coming in the first eleven minutes- Jalloh scored for Heath- whilst Uxbridge defeated Faversham Town SEVEN-one, with goals from Akintunde (3), Osobu (2), and Witham.

Whitehawk lost two-one to Worthing- goal from a trialist- and drew two-two with Winchester City, in two shortened matches at Worthing. O’Toole and a trialist scoring for the Hawks.

Wokingham & Emmbrook drew one-one with Marlow, whilst Haringey defeated Welwyn Garden City two-one. Hewitt-Byrne and Odeku were the Boro scorers.

Takeley hosted out very own Bishop's Stortford, and the Blues left with a three-one win. Charles, Egbri and Merrifield for the Blues.
