Fullicks paying tribute to late fan

Folkestone Invicta will pay tribute to a supporter who was killed in a car crash before kicking off against Kingstonian in the Ryman Premier on Saturday.

Invicta announced on Monday that supporters at the Fullicks Stadium will be asked to join in a minute’s applause in memory of fellow fan and volunteer Daniel Quigley, pictured, who was killed in a road accident at Capel in early September.

An estimated 200 people attended the 17-year-old’s funeral at Hawking two weeks ago today (Monday) when the chapel could easily have been filled twice over. Mourners included former schoolmates at Pent Valley School and fellow students from Kent College.

His granddad, Herbie Tyler, said: “We were moved to see that many people there – and especially that so many of friends from school and college came along. It was a very emotional day for everyone.”
