Charlie Grainger is the new number one at Hastings United

Hastings United have announced the signing of Dulwich Hamlet goalkeeper Charlie Grainger.

Charlie played youth football for Norwich City and Leyton Orient, eventually progressing to the first team squad at Brisbane Road. after a spell in the Under 18's. He made his first team debut for Orient in September 2015.

Whilst with Orient he had a number of loan spells. He made, for example, ten appearances for Cray Wanderers during the 2013-14 campaign, and went on to spend time with Histon, Hampton & Richmond Borough and Farnborough.

He moved to Hamlet in the summer of 2019, and has remained at Champion Hill ever since, winning the Player of the Year award in 21-22.

In his younger days (not that he's now old!), he played Under 18 international football for England.
