Hawks bring in 'Team of the Season' striker

By Ian Townsend

Andy Somo moves to Whitehawk

Andy Somo spent last season terrorising Pitching In Isthmian South Central defences, but will be stepping up a level in the forthcoming campaign after swapping Chipstead for newly promoted Whitehawk.

Andy managed seventeen goals for the Chips last season, including four in one match against Hanworth Villa. That followed nineteen goals in thirty five appearances during the 21-22 campaign.

Prior to his time with the Chips, Andy spent the two pandemic-hit seasons playing for Croydon in the SCEFL. He was also rather prolific for the Trams.

Two weeks ago it was confirmed that Andy had been chosen by South Central managers for a place in our official Team of the Season. He will undoubtedly hope to repeat that feat in the Pitching In Isthmian Premier next season.
