Highlights: Hornchurch 2 Dulwich Hamlet 1

By Ian Townsend

The Urchins hit the summit

Two early goals for Hornchurch were enough to take three points and move to the top of the Pitching In Isthmian Premier table despite a Dulwich Hamlet fightback at Bridge Avenue.

Urchins striker Liam Nash started the evening on six goals for the season, and within ten minutes had taken his tally up to eight. The first, after just four minutes, was a tap in after good work from Tom Wraight, and the second, just six minutes later, saw George Saunders take the role of provider. From that point it was an uphill struggle for Hamlet, but they did make the closing stages interesting after Adrian Clifton headed home from a corner with eleven minutes to go. Sadly for the pink and blue faithful that was that, and Hornchurch go a point clear at the top.
