Histon FC enter into a partnership with the Premier League new boys

Histon FC have announced that they have joined forces with Norwich City FC's Regional Development Programme (RDP).

The Programme, which operates across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough & Suffolk, engages with over 3000 children & young people a week across a variety of youth & community programmes- and 33 of the young players they have engaged with since 2014 have gone on to register with Norwich City in various age groups.

The partnership will provide a number of opportunities for young aspiring footballers and coaches in the region to be involved in additional training opportunities and will include the launch of an exciting player pathway supporting Histon FC and our Eastern Junior Alliance (EJA) Squads.

The RDP will now be supporting the development and management of the Histon FC U13 EJA Squad for 2019-20, and provide a further pathway for boys identified through the regions Player Development and Elite Player Development pathway. Each year, further age groups will be added to ensure continuity and progression throughout both programmes.

Additionally, the RDP and Histon FC will be working closely together on community opportunities which will be accessible for local children and young people to be involved with.

Histon FC Chairman, John Hall commented “We’re delighted to be able to partner with the Norwich City RDP for what is an exciting step forward for the club and our youth development pathway here at Histon FC. We hope that with their help and expertise we can offer a top class coaching and educational pathway for young players to progress their footballing careers”.
