Hornets and Bowers ready to write their names in history

Two clubs head north in the Emirates FA Cup- can they both cover themselves in glory

By the time you read this, the team and supporters of Horsham will already be on the road to Carlisle United, and perhaps the latter will be having a suitably lardy breakfast in a motorway service station off the M1? The team and fans of Bowers and Pitsea- and our media team- have a slightly shorter distance, as they head to the beautiful city of Lincoln to take on Lincoln City.

For Bowers, this is their first ever match in the First Round of the FA Cup. Rob Small's side have defeated Arlesey Town, Bishop's Stortford, Hornchurch and Aldershot Town to reach this stage, and been mightily impressive every time. To warm you up for the match today, we've included the highlights of that win over the Shots- and we'll be at the stadium covering the match, so you'll see a full report here this afternoon.

For the Hornets, this match brings back memories of the last time they reached this stage, 2007-08. That year, after wins over Arundel, Bury Town, AFC Wimbledon and Chippenham Town, they hosted Maidenhead United and walloped them by four goals to one. That earned them a tie with Swansea City, which they took to a replay.

This season has seen an even more impressive run, which has seen Haywards Heath Town, Kingstonian, National League South side Eastbourne Borough and National League side Woking vanquished.

We've searched for highlights of that Maidenhead match, but can only find the first goal, which we've included below- a real cracker.

Here are the highlights of that Second Round match against the Swans.

The very best of luck to both sides. You've made us very proud- and we expect you will make us prouder still!
