Former Aveley stopper David signs on at Sudbury

We were all rather surprised when goalkeeper David Hughes left Aveley recently, but today it was announced that he's back in our fold once more, a new signing for Pitching In Isthmian North promotion chasers AFC Sudbury.

David, of course, knows what it feels to win North Division promotion, as he was between the sticks when the Millers triumphed last season. He's already made thirteen appearances this season, adding to the forty four he made last season- when he kept eighteen clean sheets. He was also an enormous part of the Millers run to the Quarter Finals of the FA Trophy during the pandemic hit 2019-20 campaign, and had been a critical part of their squad for five seasons before his recent departure.

He was previously with Harlow Town, Thurrock and Enfield Town.
