Kingstonian have set a deadline for applications to succeed Alan Dowson as the Ryman Premier club’s new manager.

Dowson, 43, resigned on Sunday, ending a seven and a half year reign at Kingsmeadow, citing a desire to spend more time with his family and take a break from the game.

The hunt to appoint his successor gathered pace on Thursday with the club now inviting formal applications by Wednesday 21 May.

K’s officials say candidates should have a proven track record and the experience to build on the success of the post’s former incumbent, pictured on the touchline with assistant manager Martin Tyler. They will also possess strong motivational, organisational and communication skills and hold, or be working towards, the relevant senior coaching qualifications.

The 2013-14 Ryman League Premier Division runners-up have excellent playing and training facilities and are one of the most famous names in Non-League after their success in the FA Cup and FA Trophy over the years. The club’s youth academy, established four years ago, continues to produce a steady stream of young first team players.

Postal applications, including CVs, should be sent to: John Fenwick, Chairman, Kingstonian Football Club, Kingsmeadow Stadium, Jack Goodchild Way, 422A Kingston Road, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey KT1 3PB.

Alternatively, applications should be sent via email to: chairman@kingstonian.com.
