Witham Town have announced the return to the club of defender Luke Ige.
Luke was Managers Player of the Year for his performances for Town last season, when he made thirty one appearances. That followed thirty nine appearances during 21-22 and seven during his first spell with the club, 2019-20, which means this will be his third attempt to sing an initiation song!
Luke moves back to Witham after starting the campaign with Concord Rangers, for whom he played twice, against Enfield Town and Hashtag United.
Luke started his career with Aston Villa, coming through their Academy before signing for Colchester United and playing for their Under 23 squad. He has also spent time with Merstham, playing twice during the finished almost before it started 20-21 campaign.
Alongside Luke, but at the other end of the field, Town gave a debut on Saturday to forward Izaih Antoine- and he added their third goal in FA Cup victory over Stanway Rovers. Izaih started the season with Tilbury, who he joined after a magnificent season with Brentwood Town Under 23's, where he scored at a rate of more than a goal a game as his side won the Isthmian development League North title. He also played in Town's last game of the Pitching In Isthmian North campaign, a three-nil win over Wroxham back in April.
