Former Assistant boss Liam Bailey now has the top job at Maldon & Tiptree

Maldon & Tiptree have announced that their new manager is former Assistant boss Liam Bailey, who steps into the role vacated by the recent departure of Peter Taylor.

In a statement, the club explain:

'We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Liam Bailey as the new Head Coach of Maldon and Tiptree FC. Liam's deep understanding of the club, coupled with his years of dedicated service as the assistant manager, makes him the perfect fit for this role.

Having played non-league football, Liam has been an integral part of our coaching setup for several years. During that time, Liam has gained a wealth of knowledge, experience, and contacts at this level of football. His passion, dedication, and commitment to bring success to this club are evident in every aspect of his work.

As we continue the season, we are excited about the fresh energy, ideas, and style of play that Liam will bring to the team. His promotion to the position of Head Coach is a testament to his hard work and dedication, and we have every confidence that he will lead the team to new heights.'

Liam rejoined the club as Assistant under Paul Abrahams in the summer of 2022, having previously been Assistant under David Wright and Steve Ball during the 2015/16 season. He spent a short spell as caretaker during 2015-16, ended up as caretaker again when Abrahams left the Jammers last September, and has recently been caretaker following Taylor's departure. Away from the Jammers, Liam has extensive experience of youth coaching at Colchester United.
