There was much consternation amongst Maldon & Tiptree fans when it was announced recently that captain Scott Kemp had left the club, so we can't imaging how they are feeling upon hearing the news that he has now signed for local rivals Heybridge Swifts.
Scott made thirty appearances for the Jammers this season, scoring five goals, and managed nine goals in thirty nine last season- a campaign which saw him pick up the Player of the Year Award from the Jammers Fans Association. Perhaps that explains why there was much surprise this time last week when the club announced that manager Peter Taylor had decided to 'let him go.'
He also managed fifteen appearances in the pandemic hit 20-21 campaign, after joining the club from Witham Town. He previously spent time with AFC Sudbury.
