Keeper credits manager for return

Harrow Borough keeper Nick Jupp reckons manager Dave Anderson's track record and the lure of familiar surroundings helped persuade him to return to the Ryman Premier club.

The 25-year-old keeper, pictured, left Earlsmead after a successful 2010-11 season that saw him earn two awards at the club’s end of season presentation ceremony. After moving to St Albans City for two years, he went on to Barnet and made 17 appearances for the Conference Premier's Bees last season.

He returned to Harrow for a second spell earlier this month, making his first appearance in the 1-0 defeat at Enfield Town in the League Cup and his home return against Waltham Abbey in a 2-1 FA Cup win to set up Saturday's Fourth Qualifying Round clash with Basingstoke.

Jupp, who won a silver medal representing Great Britain at the 2011 World University Games, also believes he still has a future in the Football League.

He said: "It’s good to be back. There have been a few familiar faces in the crowd and it’s nice to be back and feel welcome. I know he’s got a really good track record and reputation and he convinced me to come back.

"I would like to play full-time still, but it hasn’t gone that way so far. I’m very lucky Harrow have been kind enough to have me back. The manager, the players and everyone have all been very welcoming so it’s nice to be here."
