Lakin to lend a hand at Blues

Maldon & Tiptree

Maldon & Tiptree manager Terry Spillaine will have a new face alongside him in the dugout and on the training ground after bringing in coach Barry Lakin.

The Ryman North's Blues announced on Thursday that Lakin had joined Spillaine's staff at the Wallace Binder Ground two weeks after leaving the manager's hot-seat at Eastern Counties League Premier Division outfit Stanway Rovers.

Lakin has managed Ryman sides AFC Sudbury and Heybridge Swifts in the past and will be in the away dugout on Saturday when the Blues travel to Barkingsde in Ryman North action.

The Blues have also confirmed that coach John Brandon is set to take a back seat over the remainder of the campaign due to family commitments but will be staying on at the club in a scouting role.
