Macron unveil their final managerial maestros

Tony Russell, Tommy Warrilow and Neil Cugley are the winners of the final Macron Managers of the Month accolades of the Ryman League season.

The former VCD Athletic and Cray Wanderers managers, together with Folkestone Invicta boss Cugley, were unveiled on Friday as April’s winners of Macron’s monthly managerial honours.

As well as being presented with framed certificates to mark their achievements, the trio will be measured up for bespoke new suits by the Surrey-based suit and menswear specialists who signed a unique sponsorship partnership agreement back in August to kit out all the Ryman’s top monthly managers this season.

Like all winners, they will choose from three colours at the long established company’s 7000 sq ft 'Suit City' in Redhill and there is no restriction on the number of suits managers can win for their monthly performances in Ryman League fixtures.

In Ryman South, Cugley was named as the division’s top boss for the first time this season for guiding Invicta to the runners-up spot with four wins and a draw against champions Burgess Hill Town in their final game of the regular season before beating Whyteleafe 2-1 after extra-time in the Ryman South play-off semi-final.

Ryman North winner Warrilow is no longer at the Wands after guiding the club to safety by setting a new club record of ten straight wins. Appointed in January with the express remit of securing survival, he left the club after fulfilling his mission and was named as the division’s top boss for masterminding his relegation fighting side’s final six wins.

Ironically, Warrilow was replaced at the Wands this week by former Vickers boss Russell who also moved on after securing VCD’s top flight status on the final day of the campaign. Like his predecessor at the Ryman North club, he was named by Macron as the Ryman Premier’s top manager in the final weeks of the campaign on the back of an identical record, six wins on the spin.
