Match of the Season: Bishop’s Stortford 2 Hastings United 3

By Ian Townsend

We revisit some of the best matches of last season. Hastings fan Oliver Wills recommended this one, and sent in the photograph. We think he enjoyed it!

Oliver, over to you:

‘I think it’s safe to say you’ll struggle to find a Hastings fan that wouldn’t put this as their game of the season, beating the champions away after being two-nil down. One of only two teams to tarnish their home record.

73’ Scrappy goal by our brilliant academy prospect Freddie Legg
89’ Brilliant goal with great technique from our club captain, Sammy Adams
90’ Last minute winner from our top goalscorer Ben Pope.

Great image too- with fans, players and management celebrating together. Manager Gary Elphick said this was probably his “biggest victory to date of his managerial stint at Hastings.”

You can watch the highlights below.
