McCann gets down to business

Hendon

Garry McCann has re-signed ten of last season's Hendon squad and brought another three players to the Ryman League club.

The Ryman Premier's Greens returned to pre-season training last Thursday and after training again over the weekend, McCann, pictured, announced that he'd secured the bulk of his squad.

Elliott Brathwaite, Scott Cousins, Dave Diedhiou, Berkley Laurencin, Casey Maclaren, Kevin Maclaren, Carl McCluskey, Max McCann, Lee O'Leary and Sean Thomas have all signed for the upcoming campaign along with new faces Tony Taggart from Hampton & Richmond and Chris Seeby from St Albans.

McCann's final signing, George McCluskey, is already well known to supporters after making eight appearances on loan from Barnet last season. The 19-year-old is also the brother of Hendon's Carl McCluskey.

Midfielder Taggart, 31, has spent much of his career playing in Conference South. His former clubs include Farnborough Town, Barnet, Weymouth, Eastleigh, Newport County, Sutton United and Havant & Waterlooville.

Seeby, 28, can play in defence or midfield and began his career in the youth team at St Albans before breaking into the first team and playing in the Conference Premier for the Saints. He later enjoyed spells at Northwood and Slough Town before returning to St Albans in November 2011.

* The Greens say an updated edition of the popular Hendon FC history book is now available for Kindle, priced at £4.00. The book, written by Peter Lush and David Ballheimer, has been updated to the end of the 2012-13 season and features an improved statistics section from the 2008 print edition. The book can be found by searching for Hendon FC on Amazon.
