Midfielder's international clearance comes through

By David Watters

Midfielder Stephen Okoh could finally make his debut for the Arrows in the Ryman League on Saturday after receiving his international clearance.

Hastings United manager Garry Wilson can call upon the services of the right-sided player for the visit of Hythe Town to The Pilot Field in Ryman South after his clearance came through from the Football Association following a six month spell playing for Shabab Al-Ghazieh in the Lebenese Premier Division.

The Sussex club's officials were prepared to wait for Okoh to resume his career back in England after the former Maidstone United and VCD Athletic star enjoyed an impressive pre-season trial for the U's, setting up one goal and scoring the other in the 2-2 draw against a Gillingham XI in his first appearance for Wilson's side.

Full-back Jerome Jibodu, who featured as a substitute in the U's opening two league fixtures and made his full debut in the midweek Robert Dyas League Cup win over Hythe Town, had left the Pilot Field.

In a statement on their website, the Arrows said: "Jibodu has decided to move away from the local area though and to bring his brief association with United to an end as a consequence. Everyone at the club would like to wish him all the very best for the future.
