Midweek action

By Ian Townsend

We have matches scheduled for tonight and tomorrow. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy some live football!

We've fewer matches tonight and tomorrow than we anticipated, but we're sure that one of these will tickle your live football fancy!

In the Pitching In Isthmian South Central Division, Staines Town, bottom of the table and with only one win from their last nine league matches, host Tooting & Mitcham United. The Terrors are another side not having the season we might have anticipated, but they have won four of their last five matches in all competitions so perhaps, just perhaps, things are finally clicking for *South London's finest (*Dulwich Hamlet fans, please don't write in and complain).

Next, we have three matches in the Velocity Trophy, and each of them looks rather entertaining.

AFC Sudbury and Cray Valley PM have each had campaigns to be proud of, but both have had disappointing results recently. The hosting Yellows have lots their last two league matches, both against promotion rivals, and have fallen out of the top five of the Pitching In Isthmian North Division as a consequence; whilst the Millers remain on top of the Pitching In Isthmian South East Division but have taken only one point from their last six, losing to Lancing at the weekend.

Two South Central sides meet in the shadow of the Heathrow fuel depot, as Ashford Town host Binfield. The Tangerines have won three of their last four and are in their best form of the season, their two-nil win over Chalfont St Peter at the weekend taking them up to tenth; whilst the Moles are two places- yet eight points- better off, and got back to winning ways last Tuesday night with victory over Tooting and Mitcham United. When the two met here in the League in October, it was the visitors who left victorious.

Chichester City are one of our form sides at the moment, with only one league defeat from their last nine matches, and having stuck five past Faversham Town on Saturday- their fifth win from six. They welcome Westfield to the cathedral city, the visitors having proved difficult to beat in recent weeks, but not all that keen on actually winning! They have only one league win from their last nine matches, but have drawn six of them. Someone has to win tonight, however, even if it's from the spot.

Tomorrow night Sutton Common Rovers host Chipstead in the Pitching In South Central, as two sides who have struggled to win recently look to pick up three pre-Christmas points. Rovers have won only one of their last six, and sit in sixteenth; whilst the Chips have slipped down the table courtesy of two months without a league victory- their last win coming against Guernsey back on October 16th.
