Millers hit five- and City’s return home had a late celebration

Cray Valley PM up to fourth and still unbeaten, whilst Chichester City open their new pitch with a victory

Fifth place Cray Valley PM finally got to make their trip to Littlehampton Town- the Millers, the only unbeaten side in the entire Pitching In Isthmian League, hoping to move up a place. Cray Valley have had a fine season so far, but rather alarmingly had been so busy in Cup and Trophy that they’d managed only eleven league matches before today, a run which saw them ten points behind leaders Ramsgate at kick off, albeit with three games in hand.

The Millers quickly breached the Golds defence, Danny Waldren with the opener on seventeen minutes, and they were two up ten minutes before half time, Adam Coombes converting from the spot. It got worse for the hosts just before the break, Marshall Ball seeing red, and the ten men held out for only two minutes of the second half before Kyrell Lisbie made it three- his twentieth goal of the season. Just before the hour mark Marcel Barrington made it four, ten minutes later Calvin Ekpiteta got number five, and the Millers go fourth- and close the gap to the top to seven points.

Chichester were back in their own ground and their own City, after spending the last few months playing their home matches at Bognor Regis Town whilst their new 3G pitch was completed. City had been better on the road than at home, but that’s wasn’t really a surprise, but they baptised their new pitch with a goal midway through the first half, Isaac Bello with the opener against Broadbridge Heath. The bears still had plenty of time to roar, and they levelled thirteen minutes from time, Louis Evans spoiling the Chichester party a little. Right at the end, however, the party was in full swing once more, as Ryan Davidson popped up to score a winner for the hosts, who climbed to seventh place as a result.

That’s seven without a win for the second bottom Bears.
