AFC Wimbledon's U21s development squad will be playing at the Moatside this season after Ryman South Merstham agreed to host the League Two outfit's youngsters.

The Moatsiders revealed on Sunday that the junior Dons will be kicking off at the Surrey ground, pictured, for the first time on Tuesday 23 September when they take on Gillingham.

In a statement announcing the ground-share deal, officials said they were looking forward to building on the good relations they've enjoyed with the Dons since the fan run club was founded more than a decade ago.

Club spokesman and press officer Kevin Austen said: "After visiting the stadium they were impressed with our pitch and facilities and it is a real boost to have this association with a Football League club.

"Merstham FC has had a good relationship with AFC Wimbledon since the two teams met in the Combined Counties Premier League in 2002 and we are looking forward to their first match which will hopefully attract a good crowd."
